Yeah, this project seems dead. There's been no commits May 2009 and none of the maintainers have been active in the past 2 months.

Are you a developer too? In this case we could add some new stuff I think (new retweet feature, geo locations, ...) - only for myself I am not motivated enough :)

This has good potential. Thank you for starting the project.

I just used it - can I give a few bits of pithy feedback?

1) font-size - what is that 7pt or 6? I can't believe that anyone can use that. Do you realise that someone other than pixies and dwarfs are going to try and use the software ;-)

2) Why is over 140 characters forbidden, ever? I have to use a text editor while I figure out how to get my text down to 140 characters - sort of defeats the purpose?

3) I never want to see a tweet that can't be read in full without taking some action (eg scrolling/stretching) - that is so frustrating

As I try (since quite a long time) to get any response from anyone from the the digiTweet develpment team I think this awesome client has been discontinued... :(

So I decided to create an own fork at http://wiki.github.com/TlhanGhun/digiTweetSnarlEdition which until now has two major adjustments:

It gives you notifications using the notification System Snarl (http://www.fullphat.net/ ) and
I added an installer for it so that is added to your start menu, can be uninstalled and so on

Would be interessed in some feedback if I shall dig deeper in the code (thinking e.g. about proxy support and automated updates as I have both more or less complete and ready through to other of my projects already.

Does anybody know how to make the compiled exe to run on another machine?

I compile the source code with visual studio and it runs fine on my machine. But I copied all the things under bin\release to another machine and it crashed.

Does anybody know how to solve it?

Let me first of all say that digiTweet looks like being the best Twitter client on Windows to me. I like the UI based on blacklight and for me as I have multiple accounts and stored searches it's perfect.

But let me ask an open question - is this project alive? I see no new forum posts and no reaction on the "issue" I added a month ago. Would love to see digiTweet with Snarl integration (OK, mine of course has it already since I compiled my own). Just let me know the future plans - would be happy to provide help and code to this project...

The App is great. The one annoyance is that when the boxes are cascaded down (tiled) I cannot read the entire 140 characters of the tweet. So I am always having to maximise the sender, all tweets, etcetera. It may be more troublesome for you to code the individual message boxes to auto height adjust, so I think all that it needs is to have the reduced box sizes a little taller to get the additional remaining 10-15 characters displayed.

Thanks for a great app. Loads more that can be done I'm sure but as it is it is very usable.

I would suggest adding the option to choose the url shrinking service: TweetBurner as opposed to TinyURL for example.

This is a great product, keep up the fantastic work!

All the above, and I'll add the following:

Multi-account support for those of us that have multiple accounts
Auto-follow new followers
Auto-tweeting (scheduled) much like tweetlater provides
Ability to tweet rss feed items on a schedule, much like twitterfeed.

I've been considering writing much of that myself, but now that I've found this, it looks like I may have a head-start. Just need to find the time. ;)

Really like DigiTweet. I thinstalled it on my flashdrive!

My suggestions:

- Make a portable version!
- Allow for commands like Whois, Follow, and Leave
- Word Wrap so that the app can be shrunk down to one column and still read the entire post.
- Click on @profiles in tweets and see the profile pop up in the profile box
- Add a follow/unfollow button to profile box

Also what the guys above have said ^^^^

Keep up the great work! Seriously, I like this better than TweetDeck. I don't want an Adobe Air app! Thanks, guys!

I third and fourth this. It is sort of ironic that a client so heavily dependent on Windows technology (which I'm grateful for, actually), is compressed with an algorithm that isn't natively supported in Windows.

Install digiTweet today. Pretty nice interface. Someone mentioned the panes resizing issue.
1) The Direct Message pane bleeds into the All Tweets pane when I shrink the window. My screen is 1400x1050 on a Dell Laptop.
2) Would like to see my list of Following/Followers
3) Maybe a menu link to take me to digiTweet's web page.

Figure you are still working on the program. Nice job.
